Children want to get exercise, make discoveries and experience adventures, including and especially, when on holiday. Parents and adults who accompany them would from time to time like to have some time without the children, while knowing that the children are well cared for in a group of children their own age under the supervision of a qualified adult or guide.

The Families Welcome label designates localities and holiday destinations that are aware of these desires and these needs and design their offers accordingly. The label is only granted if the rigorous conditions and criteria are met. |
Infrastructures: Lodging, restaurants, playgrounds and picnic areas
Summer and winter activities: Themed trails, water, animals, adventures/sports, culture/entertainment, transportation, events
Services: Security, package deals, client information, child care and supervised activities for children.
The destinations perform a self-evaluation with regard to the established criteria. These criteria are defined and controlled by an independent quality control commission presided over by the Swiss Tourism Federation. A third party verifies on site the information provided.
