The Swiss Capital, Berne, is among the most impressive and representative sites of medieval architecture in Europe and is featured on the list of Unesco World Heritage Sites.
The medieval atmosphere that prevails in the vaulted boutiques of the town all along the six kilometres of arcades is unique in the world. Numerous theatres, monuments, inns and boutiques, as well as the weekly markets can easily be reached on foot.
Built on a peninsula of the Aar River, Berne is in the centre of the communication routes of Switzerland and is only 1½ hours from Villars-Gryon.
